Challenge

Building cloud momentum in an organization with limited experience, budget, and a fragmented team.

A confidential banking client was at the start of its Azure journey with no established cloud infrastructure, a team of skeptics to win over, and a stretched budget. Our task was not just technical — it required championing the cloud vision, aligning a cross-functional team with competing priorities, and delivering a foundation fast enough to build technical momentum.

  • Limited cloud talent and buy-in

Strategi wore champion, cheerleader, and architect hats simultaneously — winning over cloud skeptics and building internal confidence alongside the technical foundation.

  • Constrained personnel and funding

The customer was stretched thin on available personnel and budget, requiring a lean, high-impact delivery approach that maximized value without overextending resources.

  • Siloed team with divergent priorities

The Azure Platform Team comprised infrastructure, network, and software engineers — each with different skill sets and priorities. Getting them to work in concert toward a common goal was a core delivery challenge.

  • Azure DevOps

Removed “click-ops” deployments and introduced code-only infrastructure delivery via Azure DevOps — eliminating resource drift and enforcing consistency across every environment.

  • Subscription vending process

Created a standard intake-to-deployment process for internal workload applications. Customer requirements captured via a structured form are automatically converted to JSON code and executed through DevOps pipelines — dramatically reducing time-to-deployment.

  • Policy & RBAC-enforced security

Removed user rights from the production environment entirely. All resources are deployed through managed-identity-enabled DevOps, with Azure Policy enforcing environment consistency and least-privilege access throughout.

Client perspective

If unanticipated events or changes occurred, Strategi was able to reprioritize their work and continue delivering high quality product to the customer.
